Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

I posted this on my Facebook page yesterday:

"Our daughters imitate us, even when we (and they) don't know it."

Today we went to Innis Woods to have a picnic, take a hike and enjoy the beautiful day.  I also wanted to try out my new camera.  I brought along my old camera as I wanted to take test shots of both to compare the results.  Katie, my oldest daughter, wanted to use my old camera.  I had been very protective of my little Rebel but since I had the new camera, I figured I would let her experiment under my supervision.   Took me about 5 minutes to teach her how to shoot in manual and how to zoom/focus and she was off!  I would check how she was doing occasionally but she really didn't need my help.  Later in the day, as we were shooting a flower together, she says this to me.  "Mom, I want to be a photographer like you when I grow up.  You take such awesome pictures and you inspire me so much."  Awe, how sweet is she?  Plus the kid took some amazing shots!  Impressive!    Maybe it is her calling.  I wish I had realized at that age I had such a passion.  Creativity is a wonderful thing.  Embrace it!

Here she is mastering the controls.
